The powerhouse nears completion. Here two men labor at a workbench.

The engineer makes an adjustment to a valve on the boiler. Outside a helper hauls in some split wood to feed the firebox.

When finished people will see into the powerhouse through the open doors and the opening in the roof. There is a removable roof panel to cover that hole when the model is not on display.

The model is sitting on a piece of white poster board and illuminated by LED strips. I did this to just to see how the photo would come out. The wires power three LEDs. One is in an overhead lamp and the remaining two will flicker inside the boiler's firebox.

I recently added my tank diver. His job is to dive into the tank to make repairs or remove clogs. His clothes and shoes will soon appear near the baser of the ladder. The water release lever was made from some small scraps of brass.

It was much easier to punch the two holes in this piece of copper roofing first and then cut the piece to length

The polystyrene lattice supports scraps of copper over the ammonia poured into the bottom of this Gladware container. With the top on the copper sits overnight while verdigris forms on the copper.

I found the straight verdigris green too flat and uninteresting. Using the overspray technique I described in the 2-21-21 Division meeting I applied dustings of three colors to give that flat green surface some texture.

These are two rope supports glued into their mortises which I showed in process earlier on this site.

The original building was sided with repurposed boards from another structure as evidenced by the gaps in the paint as you can see here

I mimicked the effect of the repurposes boards in my structure. The black arrow points to a rope support pulled from its mortice in the wall so the afterturn machine could pass.

Many years of rain water leaking through this window caused these stains on the interior wall,

I'm preproducing that affect, but it still needs more work with Pan Pastels.

On the spinning floor the large spinning wheels were turned by hand.

This rope worker is gripping hemp fibers between this thumb and fingers to create the yarn. He slowly backs up as the yarn gets longer and longer.
